I am interested in AI technology and animal behaviour tracking. I have my own livestock management software and I don’t want to change it. Is it possible to use only the AI behavioral analysis part of Serket?
Yes, it is possible. The behavioural analysis stands separately from other functions. Although we recommend using Serket as a whole to get the best experience and enjoy all the functions which make the life of a farmer easier.
Is it possible to use Serket if cameras are not installed on my farm?
Yes, it is possible. As the behavioural analysis stands separately from the other functions, the software could be used without installing any cameras on the farm. The usability of the main functions are not affected by the number of cameras installed.
What if I want to manage 10.000 pigs with Serket, but I don’t have cameras for every pen?
Serket is able to manage multiple farms with multiple stables and pens at the same time. The livestock management part of the platform works smoothly, no matter how many cameras are in the stables. If cameras are installed in just half of the pens, the platform will show the behavioral analysis for those pens, but other pens (without cameras) won’t lack the livestock management functionalities. However the more cameras are installed, the higher returns are expected.
How can the software recognize a pig and its behavior? How accurate is the software?
The AI module has been trained to identify individual pigs in every frame of the video. These pigs are also tracked across frames to create a pig-specific video sequence. Another module then analyses this video to tag the pig with a particular behaviour. The advanced AI models can identify individual pigs in a pen and track them over short durations with an accuracy between ~90 – 95%. It is able to identify their behaviors including walking, eating, drinking, standing and inactivity (lying). The A.I. can perform these tasks in real-time.
